Speech & dialogue at AMP convention / Ucapan dan dialog di Konvensyen AMP

Had a good dialogue on Malay/Muslim community issues at the AMP Convention today.

The Malay/Muslim community has progressed well, together with Singapore and other ethnic groups. Household incomes have risen, and education performance has improved. But there’s room to do better.

AMP Singapore has contributed to this progress, by focusing on programmes to help the community do better educationally, socially and economically. AMP produced a good report outlining the progress made, and its proposed strategies for the next 10 years. I encouraged AMP to maintain its focus on educational, social, and economic issues. They should help all segments of the Malay/Muslim community, and work together with other Malay/Muslim organisations and the Government.

Am confident that AMP will continue to do its best to help the community become a Community of Excellence. – LHL

- LHL
